Traveling with a Toddler during the Holidays

Heading to the Midwest to visit family is a yearly tradition, but it's always a struggle with a little one. To make things easier, I wear all the support systems I can manage. A neck brace during the flight helps stabilize me, as do my knee and back braces. I also opt to use a wheelchair through security to avoid unnecessary strain.

Though it's always a hassle to go through security with my braces, taking my nasal ketamine and pill bottles is never an issue. In fact, the wheelchair also helps with pre-check, so I can board earlier and get settled in.

The flight itself is a challenge too, but I distract myself with movies and helping my little one. Muscle pain usually sets in, but pain meds and muscle relaxers keep it manageable.

Once I arrive at my destination, sleeping on a different bed is tough, but I try to make the best of it and enjoy the visit as much as possible.

Thankfully, the supplements I started taking have helped keep my muscles from getting sore, and keep my MCAS and POTs from acting up.

Stay warm this holiday season!
